These photographic works were made in response to Brexit and Covid uncertainty.Here captured are my cyclical performances of presenting the harvest of each vegetable I planted during lockdown in London. Referring to the Dig for Victory WW2 campaign, these works not only allude to issues of food shortages and survival but also to the invigorating and sensory aspect of growing food as an antidote to digital overload. I see these as tentative self-portraits; my hand holding the fruits of its labour with unequivocal tactile pleasure and a palpable sense of pride. A sense of victory over feelings of disconnection and entrapment as the plant overflows the tight photographic frame, but with an inevitable return to the digital world, reaping our new possibilities of online connections and sharing
