I am delighted to have been awarded a R&D Arts Council England grant for my research project " Digesting the Archive : Photography, Time and Transformation". Over the next year, this project will explore my photographic archive as a living, material, & psychological site. Prompted by its near destruction in a domestic flood & grounded in over 30 years of practice, it reflects on my lifelong relationship with photography and its shifting personal, cultural, and technological contexts. Through reworking archival material, interviews with peer artists, mentoring, training, and workshops, it examines how to reactivate and share the archive, clarifying its value, legacy, & relevance.
